Italy – Elba

Elba

We came to Elba after eight years, when we first visited the island.

Meanwhile, during the time between our trips to Elba, we’ve visited quite a few places inclueding some islands such as Šolta (Croacia) and Malta. Even though we’ve seen a lot, Elba amazed us and we found it really fascinating.

The experience of rediscovering all the places we’ve visited 8 years ago was fantastic. There were a few sea spots which we loved before and found them great this time either, such as ‘Best Beach’ and the black sand beach, which’s name I still can not remember, but yes, it was literally BLACK! According to the topic of beaches, my absolute favorite was the seaside in Chiesi. Such a beautiful area with a few gelateria’s and with the unbelievably aquamarine color of water, warm stones to lie on and relax while sunbathing. Outstanding, what’s more to say. There are also some view terraces, where you can see wonderful landscapes, beautiful mountains, gorgeous sea, deep green forests and stunning red, yellow and purple stones.

Not only was it a sentimental journey, but also a giant blast of visiting such a paradise. This time we’ve spent our vacation on the west side of the island and as it turned out it was even more beautiful than the one we’d already known.

Elba, by local people is called ‘L’Isola dei Colori’ and I can’t disagree, it’s like a drop of rainbow situated on the globe. Plum and lavender colred stones, blue: from deep dark blue to very light turquise tone of sea water, green trees and mint seledine stone which is a fundament of a few mountains, yellow, what to say, sand: from white through yellow and ohra to this previously mentioned black, then orange, red and even pink, colors of all the gorgeous flowers, for instance my favorite bouganvilla and oleander.

All in one word – the actual island of color.

Morning Inspiration: spring edition

Morning Inspiration

As spring gets closer and closer, I’d like to share with you some bright ideas for warm, sunny mornings.

Well, starting from today, here’s my first morning snack to inspire you: chocolate muffin and straberry smoothie. This breakfast was so delicious and it made me full for such a long time. Muffin, homemade, made of whole grain flour, with nuts and cranberries, was full of fiber and good carbs, which are basically very good fuel to give you energy. Also cacao , which created chocolate flavour made me feel like I have eaten a dessert! Smoothie, made of natural yogurt and strawberries which we’ve frozen last summer, satisfied my need of fruit in the morning and also satiated me with protein. This breakfast was so good, I’m telling you!

One of the things I love about the time of morning is its wonderful light, which makes every single thing look positive and pretty.

Wonderful Christmas Time

Christmas is such a beautiful celebration. For me, December the 25th and 26th are days of loving and caring. Christmas time makes a great opportunity to arrange family meetings and to chill out with friends. Christmas is time of giving and sharing, it makes it so wonderful. As in my family, we love to give, also we receive a lot from our relatives. I thought it would be a good idea to say a big thank you to my fam and friends for the nice time we’ve spent together and for all the gifts I got this Christmas. I decided to take pictures of some presents my dear Santas gave me. I loved the gifts so so much, and I hope, you all loved yours. As I am the lover of lazy morningd and cozy nights Christmas time is the thing I love the most in winter.

Lazy day

Lazy Day

Wake up with no alarm clock. Let the smell of coffee and fresh baked muffins get you out of bed.
Go on with your morning routine, but with no rush at all. Dress up comfortably, put on your home wear or just stay in your PJ. Moving to make up, stay natural. If you can’t stand a day with no cosmetics put on your face, make just a little touch of mascara or lipgloss. You have to feel comfortable!
Take your time and enjoy your morning cup of tea or coffee. Prepare breakfast for you, your family or friends who spend the lazy day with you. Have fun making your meals, try fancy recipes which you usually don’t have time to make in the workaday rhythm.
Take blankets and pillows and read a book, watch a movie or just listen to music while sitting on a coach or in bed.
Try meditation, it’s so relaxing and it has influence over your life. Find out which part of the day works best for you. Personally, I love mornings, morning meditation is literally the greatest thing which can happen to my day.
During the day you can take a nap or just daydream while lying in bed, lightening candles and burning a joss stick.
Write a poem, draw, paint, sing, bake, do things you love. Isn’t it often like you love doing something or you have a hobby, but you have totally no time to do it?
A lazy day is the answer. As I said before, take your time and do what you really like.
After a lazy day, just before going to bed, listen to your favourite music. It’ll calm you down and make it easier to fall asleep.

Raspberry Tea

Raspberry Tea

Craving for a hot drink full of delicious sweetness?
Try out my favourite winter recipe!

Choose good quality raspberry tea (if possible, take one with no black tea inside, just fruits and flowers).
Then add pre made raspberry honey, made by putting honey and fresh raspberries into a jar. To make it flavored let it stay for a few days, then reverse the jar upside down and after a few days do the same and turn it upside up 🙂
While adding raspberry honey sirup into your cup do not skip these whole fruits, it adds some extra flavor and makes it look really cute.
That’s basically it!

This raspberry tea is one of my absolute favorite things to drink in winter, also during Christmas time.

Hot Chocolate with Marshies

Hot Chocolate with Marshies

Hot Chocolate

What’s better to warm up and to get a little sweetness then Hot Chocolate is?! Supposedly nothing.
That’s why I think everyone should be able to make a perfect cuppa chocolate. Enjoy the recipe!

You’ll need:
• 2 tsp  cacao powder
• cup of whatever milk you like (my absolute favourite is thin coconut milk, as you warm it up the smell is incredible!)
• 1-2 tsp cane sugar (it’s okay to use regular white as well)
• 2 pieces of dark chocolate
• mini marshmallows

Firstly you’ll need to warm the milk up. As it’s hot, add cacao by little drops (not all at once) to avoid clods.
Stir untill all drink has the same regular color. Add sugar and mix till dissolved. I recommend to put the chocolate to a microwave for a few seconds to remake it hot, because it could loose it’s warmth, when we were adding cacao and sugar. Serve with pieces of chocolate inside the cup. Owing to the heat of liquid the chocolate will melt. Cover your cup od deliciousness with mini marshies. They’ll melt a bit as well.
Voila! The perfect cup of Hot Chocolate is ready! Enjoy!

Homemade Iced Tea

All the iced teas together

So yummy and so easy to make! Great for a baking heat of summer days! What is it? Homemamde iced tea!
All you will need is your favourite tea essense, any sweetener you like (you can also prepare an unsweetened version of the drink) and ice cubes. It is also good to add some matching seasonal fruits or mint leaves to make the taste more sophisticated.
In here, I’ve made a few different kinds of iced tea:

  • Hibiscus  unsweetened iced tea with fresh mint leaves
  • Green tea with pickled pear flavouring sweetened with classic white sugar and decorated with red currant
  • White tea sweetened with cane sugar, decorated with blueberries
  • Classic black tea with honey and lemon

Have fun with experimenting with different kinds of tea and addings. Enjoy your drinks!
