Whenever Autumn arrives we make some decorations. Every year we get some pumpkins, as plenty of the crowd do, but we are not that ordinary. We look for smaller pumpkins to collect a few of them. Ussually we buy them in many different tones of orange and many different shapes to form a pretty decor on a table or a cupboard. I find them lovely as they’re “imperfect”. They make me feel Fall even more… Other cold weather flavours are kinda connected to them. Such as cake or muffins smell, where to make the dough we’ve used pumpkin puree. At my home you can always feel like there’s a cake in then oven, so I you guess so, you’ll propably be right!
Instead of complaining about grey days and rainy weather I would prefer to enjoy spending warm and cozy time at home, baking pumpkin, carrot and zucchini pastries, drinkimg hot green tea and spending lazy evenings covered by a blanket and watching romantic movies with friends. I am so joyful as it comes to feel the smell of cinnamon and cacao around the house.
Let’s face it, Fall is not that bad. I love it.
One of my Fall delights: heather.
Next to the dinning table, where I have all of my breakfasts, we have flowerpots hanged to the side. Heather is grown there and to be honest, looking at these lovely plants literally make my days.
Violet, purple, light pink, pastel rose, tones of white and cream.. all of these compose the color of heather. Forreal.. it’s the way too perfect, when I wake up, I come to the living room an I see sunrise (imagine the magic of sky during dawn) an our heather lightened by the morning golden sun reys.
That’s basically one of the reasons why I love mornings so much.
What’s better to warm up and to get a little sweetness then Hot Chocolate is?! Supposedly nothing.
That’s why I think everyone should be able to make a perfect cuppa chocolate. Enjoy the recipe!
• 2 tsp cacao powder
• cup of whatever milk you like (my absolute favourite is thin coconut milk, as you warm it up the smell is incredible!)
• 1-2 tsp cane sugar (it’s okay to use regular white as well)
• 2 pieces of dark chocolate
• mini marshmallows
Firstly you’ll need to warm the milk up. As it’s hot, add cacao by little drops (not all at once) to avoid clods.
Stir untill all drink has the same regular color. Add sugar and mix till dissolved. I recommend to put the chocolate to a microwave for a few seconds to remake it hot, because it could loose it’s warmth, when we were adding cacao and sugar. Serve with pieces of chocolate inside the cup. Owing to the heat of liquid the chocolate will melt. Cover your cup od deliciousness with mini marshies. They’ll melt a bit as well.
Voila! The perfect cup of Hot Chocolate is ready! Enjoy!
As I was in Italy I needed to pack my stuff a few times during the trip, because it was a tour so we’ve visited many different cities. Owing to long hours spent in the bus I wanted myself to feel comfy, so I got all the things which could make my travel more comfortable and more likely to make me feel good. Now I am back home and before I publish a post about the trip (I feel sorry that you have to wait so long for it) I decided to write a “Travel Guide” for roadtrips telling about my Travel Essentials. So here, I’m going to advise you what to take to the bus, car, also to train and plane.
Starting from the things which will make your travel much nicer and much more comfortable, I recommend to take a pillow, a blanket and fuzzy socks, because whenever you’d like to take a nap during the ride or as it gets chilly in evenings in Fall it gives a perfect solution. Then, some good music. I often listen to music from my phone or ipod, so owing to this habbit I always take a bunch of powerbanks to my travel bag to keep my electronics charged. If you like listening to music a lot, choose your headphones carefully: take the ones which really let you wear them for a long time.
Pack something, which can entertain you. I usually choose a book, which I am lately reading and my notebook to write ideas I get on the way and to note my thoughts. It can be a magazine, crossword, game console, scetchbook, cards or anything else as well.
Don’t forget to pack your documents (like ID card) and a wallet to your little bag. These things may be useful!
Moving to snacks and drinks (this is one of my favourite parts 🙂 ), first thing first, take a lot of water to stay hydrated during the way. Morover, take a nurtitious drink as a snack. You can take a bottle of juice or a smoothie, and belive me, it really makes your travel better. When I travel by night, I like to have hot green tea in a thermos to warm up. Remember to take something to eat like fruit (both fresh and dried are perfect), veggies, maybe nuts or cereal. The foods I whote about above are great to pack and easy to eat in the in a car or a bus (or whatever other mean of transport you’re travelling by).
Next point on my “to take” list is a small make up bag. Obviously it’s not exactly a “make up” bag. Usually I take some skincare and every-day-used cosmetics such as hand lotion, face cream, lipbalm, nail file, toothbrush and toothpase if I travel by night to stay fresh. Also I always have tissues and wet wipes along me. I like to have my body mist and hair brush as well. And last but definitely not the least: an antibacterial gel. This is one of my real travel essentials.
These are the things I usually carry in my purse, when I go somewhere for vacation or on a road trip. Let me know what are your travel essentials in the comment section below!
